Become a skilled trigger point therapist. A trigger point is not a magic button. In fact, it is not a location at all. It is a dysfunctional event that happens in many different tissues of the body, including muscle. Learn how a trigger point dictates the length and also the strength of muscle tissue. Learn the recognizable pain patterns of active triggers and the postural effects of latent ones. Learn the various manual techniques most effective for normalizing this tissue including stretching, pressure therapies, deep stroking, friction, hot vs. cold, and more. You will leave this class with a clear understanding of the physical mechanism of this event and also the mechanical effect of your therapy upon it. Do you realize that improper techniques on trigger points are known to activate latent triggers and make your client worse? Learn how to refine your palpation skills to search and identify these locations without poking, prodding and guessing. Your therapy will be more precise and direct, saving your hands from doing needless therapy with faster benefit for your clients.
Your certification will be granted after completing the 3 course program along with taking a written and manual test.
